I flew back to North Carolina for a friends bridal shower this past weekend. It had me reminiscing back to a year ago when I was having my bridal shower and how blessed I felt to have such beautiful souls in my life to share these joyous memories with. Being one of the first from my group of friends to get married, I always get super excited when I get to travel back to North Carolina to help them celebrate their special moments as they did for me. As new chapters open in your life don’t completely close the door on the previous chapter. Always cherish the people, the experiences, and memories from previous stages of your life as you begin to make new ones. How’s that for some wise words for ya! 😉
Now on to the style! I wore this outfit to Sunday brunch as we wrapped up a fun filled weekend. I am absolutely in love with this top from Nasty Gal. It incorporates two of the latest trends: the long asymmetric back hem, which I’ve been loving, and what I’ve been calling the dramatized cowl neck top / twisted criss-cross (phew! What a name!).
What I love about this top is it can be styled in two different ways. It can be worn as the statement piece of an outfit and paired with some dark pair of jeans or leather pants for a cute Fall look. Or because of it’s neutral color, it can be paired with patterned pants as I styled it in today’s look as a supporting piece of the outfit. I paired the peachy top with some orange and teal paisley pants from Zara and some nude strappy shoes from DailyLook. I completed the look with a white and gold bangle watch from Kate Spade and a teal colored snake ring from Bijuju.
As always, if you were inspired by today’s look, post a picture with the hashtag #HAZshoutout. I would love to see how you wore today’s ootd!
